How does it work?
Esoteric Acupuncture works on an extremely subtle level of finer frequencies, using special geometrical patterns and sequences of needle insertion that trigger the opening of spin points. These are inter-dimensional openings through which sound-light vibrations from the higher-dimensional network can enter the physical body through the acupuncture points, accelerating the spin of cell molecules and causing the formation of light micro-fibrils within the cells. To prolong the benefits of the treatments, it is best to maintain a very pure diet and an active, healthy, and positive lifestyle. Having a treatment will actually motivate you to do this. You may wear loose clothing for the session. If you prefer to experience tuning forks or other forms of non-invasive point activation, this is also an option.

Hi, I’m Leah,
I have been nationally board-certified and practicing acupuncture since 2009 and am honored to have supported hundreds of clients in finding greater peace, balance, and healing through this powerful medicine.
As part of my academic training at Southwestern Acupuncture College, I completed a six-week externship at a World Health Organization research hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam. There, I treated patients daily, collaborated with seasoned staff physicians, and studied traditional Vietnamese herbal medicine. This immersive experience deepened my understanding of how traditional practices are integrated into modern healthcare systems.
Early in my studies, I developed a strong interest in the role of acupuncture in addiction recovery. While in school, I completed specialized training through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) to become an AcuDetox Specialist. Since then, I’ve found great meaning in working with individuals on their recovery journeys and have gone on to supervise and train many new AcuDetox Specialists in New Mexico.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in diverse clinical environments while maintaining a private practice. Most recently, I spent nearly 13 years practicing in a busy, insurance-based integrative medical clinic in Santa Fe. In addition, my professional development has included extensive travel throughout China, where I have had the opportunity to experience firsthand how traditional Chinese medicine is woven into daily life and culture.
I’ve completed thousands of hours of continuing education, with a strong focus on psycho-emotional and spiritual health, as well as women’s health. In 2012, I undertook advanced training in Esoteric Acupuncture with its founder, Dr. Mikio Sankey. This unique approach blends principles of Traditional Oriental Medicine with elements of the Kabbalah, chakra system, and sacred geometry. Dr. Sankey beautifully articulates the essence of this work:

Do you accept insurance?
No. At this time, all services are self-pay.
Do you accept HSA cards?
Yes, Health Savings Account cards are accepted for acupuncture.

How often should I book acupuncture sessions?
Generally speaking, acupuncture works best when received on a regular basis. The recommended frequency of treatment depends on the condition being treated and the general state of the client. Most often, a series of 4-6 sessions is suggested. We will talk about this during your first visit.
Do I have to undress for acupuncture?
No. It is perfectly acceptable to wear loose clothing for your treatment.
Does acupuncture hurt?
For most people, receiving acupuncture is a very comfortable experience. If you are afraid of needles or prefer non-insertive techniques, please let me know so that we can tailor the session to your needs.
Do you work with pregnant moms?
Yes! Acupuncture can be very helpful for both mom and baby. Please contact me prior to booking so that we can discuss any health concerns you may have.
Do you work with children?
Yes! Children can receive acupuncture as long as the parent or guardian is in the room with them for the entire treatment. Younger people tend to respond more quickly to treatment, so often the sessions are shorter. Please contact me before booking a session for your child so that we may discuss their health concerns.
