Healing Connections
Like many people, I have experienced trauma in my life. Trying to make sense of these experiences, I have utilized many therapies, but none of them really helped at a deep level until I got to a point where I was ready to be connected again. Reconnection is the common theme between Esoteric Acupuncture and Akashic Record work. Both are modalities that help you reconnect to source, to highest self, to true purpose. That is what is so healing about this work. I feel loved unconditionally when I am in the Akashic Records, and I am better able to love myself unconditionally in my daily life when I spend time in the records regularly. Esoteric acupuncture helps me to find where I fit in the big picture and to ground that knowing into my body. The patterns reconnect me to the cosmos and to myself at the same time. This way, I can be the best version of myself. Every time I reconnect, the past traumas and all they have left in my body and energy field fade just a little bit. New patterns emerge and focus movement forward toward developing those healthy parts of myself that have always been there.
Balancing Trauma
A lot of trauma work focuses on what is wrong or how the trauma has become trapped in the body. And while it is true that this happens, I found myself getting stuck in this way of looking at things. The more I looked at my hurt self, the more I felt hurt. I needed a different perspective, and Esoteric Acupuncture and Akashic Record readings have given that to me. I feel more balanced. When I do look at the shadow parts of myself now, or dive deep into the remaining shame and sadness that still sometimes come up, I no longer get lost in it. My sense of self and sense of identity are stronger now because of this work. I feel that I am now my own ally, rather than working against myself. I am more gentle with myself because I can see my life from a different perspective.
Leah Collins Santa Fe Career Journey
B.A. Psychology
I received a degree in Psychology from the University of New Mexico in 1999. This degree has significantly enhanced my effectiveness as a provider by deepening my understanding of the mind-body connection, improving communication with clients, and supporting more holistic, empathic care. Indeed, this course of study was the foundation of my work as a healer.
Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)
In 2001, I graduated from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics with the title of Natural Therapeutic Specialist. This comprehensive training enabled me to become a licensed massage therapist—a license I continue to hold and actively maintain to this day.
My education included in-depth study of a wide range of healing modalities, including massage and bodywork techniques, Polarity Therapy (based on the teachings of Dr. Randolph Stone), craniosacral therapy, acupressure, and holistic nutrition. This strong foundation in energy-based healing continues to inform and enrich every session I offer, supporting a deeply integrative and intuitive approach to care.
Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM)
I earned my Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2008 from Southwest Acupuncture College, completing a rigorous four-year program that integrated extensive clinical training with in-depth study of herbal medicine. Upon graduation, I passed five national board exams and have maintained both national board certification and an active license to practice acupuncture in New Mexico ever since.
In my private practice, I have chosen to specialize in mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. Over the years, I have pursued thousands of hours of continuing education to deepen my expertise in this area and to better support the holistic needs of my patients.
Advanced Akashic Records Practitioner
I have completed extensive training with Dr. Linda Howe in the Akashic Records, including coursework focused on understanding one’s soul purpose, facilitating deep spiritual healing, and the practice of inspired manifesting through the Records. This training offers powerful tools for accessing soul-level insights, healing core wounds, and releasing limiting beliefs rooted in past lives and ancestral patterns.
In addition to my work with Dr. Howe, I have studied a variety of specialized Akashic Records practices with other experienced teachers. These include:
- Addressing limiting beliefs and energetic patterns around money to support greater abundance
- Identifying and clearing outdated soul contracts, vows, and agreements
- Engaging in shadow work within the Akashic Records to transform or integrate unconscious aspects of the self that may influence behavior and decision-making
- Integrating psychosynthesis theory into Akashic healing practices to support the resolution of inner fragmentation and reconnection with the Higher Self
This body of work continues to inform my approach to spiritual healing and personal transformation, offering clients access to deep, multidimensional insight and lasting change.
